Why I built WaddlePath

It was late, my son was finally asleep, and I was trying to remember something he'd said that made us laugh so hard we cried. It was gone. So I built a journal I could actually keep up with — tap once, speak naturally, done. I designed every screen and every Puddle illustration, and architected the AI myself — in stolen hours after my son fell asleep. No investors, no team. Just one tired mom who couldn't bear to forget another moment.

WaddlePath is an AI-powered parenting journal for iOS. You tap the mic, speak naturally for up to a minute, and Puddle (the AI) turns your voice into a beautiful journal entry your whole family can read. You can also ask Puddle questions about your kid's story across years.
How is my family's data protected?+
Your data is encrypted and private to your family — never sold and never used to train AI models. You can export everything as a PDF or delete your account at any time.
What AI does Puddle use?+
Puddle is powered by OpenAI's API for AI refinement and chat. Your journals are sent only when you interact with Puddle, and OpenAI does not retain or train on your data per their API terms.
Is WaddlePath available on Android?+
WaddlePath launches on iOS first. Android is planned for late 2026. Join the waitlist to get notified when it's ready.
How much does WaddlePath cost?+
Three plans: Hatchling (free forever, unlimited journal entries with monthly AI quotas), Family ($7.99/month, unlimited AI and up to 5 photos per entry for up to 6 family members), and Family+ ($12.99/month, adds caregiver access plus 10 photos per entry).
Can grandparents, nannies, and au pairs use WaddlePath too?+
Yes, with the Family+ plan. You can invite up to 3 caregivers (nannies, babysitters, au pairs, grandparents) with controlled permissions — choose which journals they can see, edit, and contribute to. Caregivers have a 24-hour edit window to keep your record authoritative.
How long does a journal entry take?+
Less than a minute. Tap the mic and speak naturally — voice messages can be up to 60 seconds. Puddle's AI cleans up grammar, adds context, and turns it into a beautiful entry. You can also type or attach photos.
Can I get my journals out as a printed book?+
Yes. Family members can export 12 PDFs per year, and Family+ members can export unlimited PDFs with premium keepsake-book formatting. The PDF is print-ready and yours forever.
Who built WaddlePath?+
WaddlePath is built solo by Michelle, a mom who designed every screen, architected the AI, and made every Puddle illustration herself. She built it after journaling 1,300+ times about her son and wanting to actually use those memories — to ask questions, find moments, watch him grow.

WaddlePath supports voice and text journaling in 30+ languages, with one-tap translation in the family feed. Grandma in Paris can write in French, Dad in Tokyo reads in Japanese — emotion is preserved across languages.
